- Jan. 29: A benefit for a family whose home was destroyed in the Jan. 7 tornado outbreak will be Saturday (Feb. 2).
The benefit for the Sekey family of Wheatland will be 6 to 9 p.m. at Lumpy’s Sports Bar, 9251 Antioch Road.
Numerous prizes will be raffled, with money raised going to the family. Jimmy Novak from radio station WIIL-FM will host the event. For more information, contact Andy Ducato at 206-7696.
- Jan. 27: Farm Service Agency disaster loans are available to farmers who suffered damages or losses in the Jan. 7 tornadoes.
Actual loss loans for physical damage to property destroyed or damaged will be based upon the allowable cost associated with repairing or replacing the property. The property must be essential to continuation of the operation.
Interest rates for actual loss loans not to exceed $500,000 will be 3.75 percent.
Farmers who feel they have sustained a qualifying loss should contact the Racine Kenosha Milwaukee FSA Office at 1012 Vine St., Union Grove, WI 53182.
The deadline is Sept. 12.
