Former Silver Lake president accused of child sexual assault
A former Silver Lake president and police officer is accused of engaging in sexual intercourse with multiple teen boys.
Ronald C. Wieland, 71, allegedly committed the most recent offense in his village home last week, according to a criminal complaint.
The complaint alleges Wieland gave alcohol and marijuana to the a 15-year-old boy before forcing him onto a bed and performing oral sex. He is charged with two felony counts of sexual assault of a child younger than 16.
Wieland, arrested Thursday, is free on a $20,000 cash bond that was posted Saturday, according to jail records. He is set to have a preliminary hearing in Kenosha County Circuit Court today.
He was a member of the Silver Lake Village Board from 1974 to 1983, serving as its president from 1979 to 1983, and was a part-time village police officer in the early 1970s.
