Reds volleyball team to play Thursday in first round of NCAA tournament
The Carthage College women’s volleyball team (31-5), ranked eighth in the Nov. 3 American Volleyball Coaches Association NCAA Division III poll, opens play in the 62-team NCAA Division III Women’s Volleyball Championship on Thursday, Nov. 12, versus Simpson College (21-13) at the Central Region championship at Washington University (Mo.) Field House in St. Louis.
In the other quarterfinal contests, No. 22 Nebraska Wesleyan University (17-11) will play Wisconsin-Platteville (22-14), Thomas More College (28-10) will face No. 9 the University of St. Thomas (Minn., 21-9), and Webster University (20-12) will tangle with top-seeded and No. 3 Washington (Mo., 28-4).
The Reds will be making their fifth-consecutive appearance in the championship.
