Lothian chief of staff to seek retiring lawmaker’s seat
The chief of staff for state Rep. Thomas Lothian, R-Williams Bay, will vie this fall to succeed the retiring lawmaker.
Tyler August announced his candidacy for the 32nd Assembly District this morning, a few days after Lothian announced he will not seek re-election. Lothian, in turn, announced his endorsement of August.
The district includes much of Walworth County, plus the town of Wheatland. August, in a campaign statement, said he hopes to build on Lothian’s conservative record.
Two other Republicans and a Democrat have also declared candidacy.
