A: Dear Concerned Parent,

The speed limit on Kenosha residential side streets is 25 mph. Children will soon be out of school and playing outside, so please spread the word. We all need to HEED THE SPEED. Evidence shows higher speeds are associated with more severe pedestrian injuries and death. The numbers below illustrate this point.

Drivers who travel at:

n 20 mph have a 5 percent chance of being in a crash where a pedestrian is killed.n 30 mph have a 45 percent chance of being in a crash where a pedestrian is killed.n 40 mph have an 85 percent chance of being in a crash where a pedestrian is killed.
