Slade Allen Baker, 7, of Burlington, died Monday, Jan. 4, 2010, following a sledding accident. He was born June 5, 2002, in Burlington to Matthew Allen and Marie Angalic (nee: Medic) Baker. He was in 2nd grade at St. John's Lutheran in Burlington.

Slade was a member of Community United Methodist Church in Waterford and St. John's Lutheran Church in Burlington. He enjoyed football, baseball and basketball. He was a die hard Bears fan. He was a "hands on," outgoing boy. He was a hard worker, a joker and an instigator, who lived every moment to the fullest.
Survivors include his parents, Matt and Marie Baker of Burlington; brother, Damian Baker and sister, Shelby Baker, both at home; grandparents, Bill and Eva Baker of Burlington, Jean (Fritz Duis) Pallas of Baraga, Mich., Steve and Shanette Kramer of Burlington; great-grandmother, Diva Chastain of Berrien Springs, Mich., and BFF, Anthony. He is further survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, other extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Community United Methodist Church, 455 S. Jefferson St., (Hwy W) in Waterford with Rev. Russ Frees officiating. Burial will follow at Burlington Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family on Friday, Jan. 8, from 4 - 8 p.m., and also on Saturday, Jan. 9, from 10 - 11 a.m. at the church.
His parents wish to thank family, friends and all the volunteers that came out in the cold to bring Slade home.
