Red Devils qualify in two more events for State swimming meet
Bradford’s Dana Iverson added the 100-yard freestyle to her plate of events when the WIAA Division-1 State Swimming and Diving Championships take place Saturday at the University of Wisconsin Natatorium in Madison.
Iverson’s time of 54.03 seconds was good enough to qualify as the 16th seed in the event at State. Iverson won the 100 backstroke at Saturday’s sectional in 58.57 and is seeded fourth.
There are six sectionals held across the state. The event winners automatically qualify for State and the next-fastest 18 finishers from all the sectionals combined in each event qualify for state.

Bradford’s 200 freestyle relay team of Iverson, Tiara Thompson, Brittany Beyer and Jodi Vanderford also earned a special qualifier with a school-record 1:42.29 at the sectional. The time leaves the team seeded 23rd.
The Red Devils’ Jaclyn Pitts (374.45 points) and Tremper’s Emily Werve (356.70) are among the top 24 divers set to compete at State.
Falling short of special qualifier status was Bradford’s 200 medley relay team of Morgan Sax, Iverson, Vanderford and Beyer. Their sectional time of 1:56.20 wasn’t fast enough as Hartford grabbed the 24th seed with a 1:54.87.
