Daisy Strande, 92, formerly of Trevor, Wis., passed away Tuesday June 7, 2011, at Rainbow Hospice Ark, Park Ridge, Ill. She was born Jan. 22, 1919, in Corona, Ala., the daughter of the late John and Nancy (Dunn) Taylor, moving to Trevor in 1960 and settling in Park Ridge in 2005. Daisy was a devoted member of the Community Baptist Church, Silver Lake, Wis., and loved to garden, bake, feed the birds, and she loved her cats. Before her retirement in 1979 she worked as a billing clerk for Regal China for many years. On Sept. 19, 1938, she married Robert Strande in Perryville, Mo., and he preceded her in death on June 18, 1999.

Survivors include her two daughters, Ruth Marie Iwanicki of Wonder Lake, Ill., and Vivian Jean Olsen of Homewood, Ill.; seven grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and two sisters, Reva Barrett of St. Louis, Mo., and Helen Tomlinson of Orleans, Ind. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter Donna Olsen; a brother, Vernon Taylor, and a sister Inez Farley.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, June 13, 2011, at the Strang Funeral Home of Antioch, 1055 Main St. (Rte. 83) Antioch, IL 60002. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. in Ridgewood Cemetery, Des Plaines, Ill. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
