Ty D. Sitter, 23, of Janesville, Wis., died Thursday, June 9, 2011, while canoeing in the Boundry Waters Canoe Area in Grand Marais, Minn.

Ty Douglas Sitter was born on Nov. 10, 1987, in Burlington, Wis., the son of Mark and Dawn Larsen Sitter. Ty was a 2006 graduate of Wilmot High School. He was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Slades Corners. Ty has lived in Janesville for the past year and worked for Powell Construction.

Ty was a member of the American Motorcycle Association He enjoyed motocross, the outdoors and fishing. He especially enjoyed being with his family and friends.

Ty is survived by his parents, Mark and Dawn Sitter of Twin Lakes, Wis.; one brother, Scott of Twin Lakes, Wis.; one sister, Holly of Twin Lakes, Wis.; his fiancée, Casiee Powell of Janesville, Wis.; grandparents, Richard and Deanna Larsen of Twin Lakes, Wis; great-grandmother, Delores Schenning of Burlington, Wis.; uncle, Dean Larsen; aunt, Debra (Bill) Ladd and cousins, Kevin and Kurt Larsen and Rosie and Renee Ladd.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandfather, Rodell Schenning.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, June 20, 2011 at the Haase-Derrick-Lockwood Funeral Home and Crematory with Pastor Daniel Nitz officiating. The Sitter Family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until the time of Services. For online condolences: hdlfuneralhomes.com.
