Ronald Floyd Memler, 71, of Wilmot, Wis., passed away peacefully Monday, Oct. 17, 2011, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born April 11, 1940, in Burlington, Wis., the son of the late Floyd and Evelyn (Vincent) Memler and has been a lifelong resident of the Wilmot area. Ron was a member of the United Methodist Church in Wilmot.
He was a farmer on the family farm which dates back 136 years, worked on a buffalo farm, Robinson Bait Shop in Genoa City and before his retirement he worked at the Trevor Feed Store.
Ron loved working on the farm, square dancing, playing cards and especially being with his family.
On June 6, 1964, he married Mary Piskula in Burlington, Wis.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Mary; his children, Susan (Kirk) Kisner of Wilmot, James (Sue) Memler of Pickett, Wis., and Kellie (Stephen) Redman of Antioch, Ill.; eight grandchildren, Rebecca (Daryl) Lutz, Michael Kisner, Daniel Kisner, Devin Kennedy, Dustin Memler, Trisha (Jamison) Wirtala, Brittanie (Brandon Hoff) Redman and Katherine Redman; two great grandchildren, Maggie and Ella Lutz; two sisters, Betty (Bruce) Dix and Mary Lou (Jim) Russell.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday Oct. 21, 2011, at the United Methodist Church, Wilmot, Wis., with Pastor Dan Verdegan officiating. Interment will be private. Visitation at the church will be from 11 a.m. on Friday until the time of services. Friends desiring may make contributions to a family memorial. Info 800-622-4441.
