Maria S. Gonzales, 85, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully Saturday, October 15th at Hospitality Manor.

Born in Ovid, Colo., on May 23, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Rosalio and Maria Carmen (Urribari) Tarango.

In December of 1972 she married Ramon A. Gonzales in Monahes, Tex. In 1983 they moved to Kenosha. He preceded her in death on June 17, 1997.

Maria is survived by her son Robert T. (Irma) Gamez and her daughter, Sandra S. (Benito) Garcia both of Kenosha; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Rodrigo Tarango of Freer, Tex., and Blas Tarango of Las Vegas, N.M.; two sisters, Maria Domitila Tarango of Las Vegas, N.M., and Camila T. Ramirez Midland, Tex.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one son, Frank Tarango.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Oct 22, at Proko Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Interment will be private. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
