Florence B. Casper, 84, of Lyons, Wis., died Thursday morning Oct. 20, 2011 at the Aurora VNA Zilber Hospice in Wauwatosa, Wis.
The former Florence B. Bahr was born on Jan. 17, 1927 in Genesee, Wis., the daughter of the late Charles and Ethel Zick Bahr. She married the late Maynard Canright on Aug. 28, 1948. They lived in Waukesha, Wis. and then Twin Lakes where they owned the Twin Lakes Pharmacy. On May 22, 1976, she was united in marriage to John “Jack” Casper in Kenosha, Wis. They lived in Twin Lakes, Wis., and Wheatland, Wis., before moving to Lyons in 1992.
Florence graduated from Gateway Technical College with an Associates Degree in Accounting in 1975, and then worked Quality Carriers in Bristol, Wis. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Lyons.
She was an avid golfer and played on the Tuesday Ladies Golf League at the Twin Lakes Country Club. She enjoyed gardening, water aerobics, dancing, RV’ing and was a dedicated walker.
Florence is survived by her husband, John “Jack”; two children, Jean (Rick) McKinney of San Antonio, TX and Charles (Robyn Calvin) Canright of Freeland, Wash.; three step children, Timothy (Nadine) Casper of Itasca, Ill., and Julia Casper of Burlington, Wis., and William (Becky) Casper of Burlington, Wis.; two grandchildren, Vienna and Slater Canright; six step grandchildren, Ashley, Aaron, Kyle, Crystal Kresken, John and Bryce Casper; step great-grandchildren, Gwendolyn and Cloey Kresken; two sisters, Ethel Mae Dehnert of Waukesha, Wis., and Sharon (Gary) Joy of Hot Springs Village, Ark; one brother, Robert Bahr of Oconomowoc, Wis.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Lynne and Theresa Canright; brothers and sisters, Charles “Bud” Bahr, Raymond Bahr, Bette Leair, Marlyn Ransom, Marjorie Stallman, Kenneth Bahr and Ruth Monroe.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday Oct. 25, 2011 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Lyons, Wis. Interment will be private. The Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday Oct. 24, 2011 at the Haase-Derrick-Lockwood Funeral Home 620 Legion Dr. Twin Lakes, WI and from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass at the Church on Tuesday.
