Keith W. Head

Keith W. Head, 75, of Deltona passed away surrounded by his family on Thursday, Oct. 20, 2011.

A memorial service in his honor will be held on Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011, at 4 p.m. at My Refuge Christian Center, 4a Ruckert Circle, Deland. Interment will be held at a later date at Green Ridge Cemetery in Kenosha, Wis.

Keith was born to Dan and Marie Head in Stockbridge, Wis., where he developed his strong work ethic and joyful spirit. He was the Wisconsin Golden Glove Champion of 1955, and proudly served in the U.S. Navy, attended Kenosha Technical College of Wisconsin, Professional College of Engineering, The University of Wisconsin, and Engineering Technology School, Ill., sharing his talents with American Motors, Chrysler Cooperation, BMW, and later as an instructor at Gateway Technical College in Wisconsin. He traveled and lived in several places around the world including China, Brazil, and Argentina settling here in 1990 to open his Heating and Cooling Company, Project Support. Keith was a big hearted, hard working gentleman, strong in his convictions, inventive, creative, artistic, and a workaholic. In addition to spending time with his family he enjoyed fishing, bowling, and cheering on his Green Bay Packers.

His parents; a brother, David Head; and a son, Danny Head preceded him in death.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife of nearly 56 years Ione Head; three sons, Brian K. (Lynn) Head, Shawn (Vickie) Head, and Keith M. Head; two daughters, Kathryn Messina and Kristine (Bill) Smolinsky; 12 grandchildren, Rachael and Michael Corradini, Danielle Fink, Kailey Messina, Brianna Alkire, Shannon and Kevin Head, Cassidy, Kennedy, and Kelsey Giese, Hayley Makarsy and Keifer Head; three great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Seth "Peanut" Corradini, and Bryce Fink Stanolis; two sisters, Marion Hoffman and Nancy Bevers, and four half siblings, Barbara Dunn, Michael, Bobby and Donnie VanHandel and many loving extend family and friends.

The family invites all who knew him to a celebration of his life on Sunday, Oct. 23, at 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to The Juvenile Diabetes Foundation or the Miami Spinal Cord Research Project.
