Eleanore Bannow, 102, died peacefully at Brookside Care Center on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2011.
She was born in Kenosha on July 28, 1909, the daughter of Edmund A. and Mary Agnes (McLaughlin) Euting. She attended St. Thomas Elementary School and graduated from Kenosha High School and Felt Terrant Comptometer School, Milwaukee.
Eleanore married Theodore J. Bannow on July 12, 1952 at St. Rita's Catholic Church, Milwaukee. He preceded her in death on Feb. 8, 1980.
Prior to her marriage, Eleanore worked at the Simmons Office, Cooper's Office, and A. O. Smith Office in Milwaukee.
She was former volunteer at St. Catherine's Hospital, Kenosha Hospital and Medical Center, and the RSVP Program.
Eleanore was a member of St. James Catholic Church, the Catholic Women's Club, St. Mary's Friendly Center, Church Women United, and St. Mary's Senior Group.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, her three brothers, Oliver, Robert, and Jerome Euting and a nephew, Kenneth Euting.
Eleanore is survived by four nephews, Gerald R. Euting (Linda), Richard Euting (Ellen),
James Euting (Mary), and Dennis Euting (Diane) and nineteen great nieces and nephews and their families.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to the Brookside Care Center Staff and wonderful caregivers, and also to her faithful friends whose regular calls and visits brought much joy to her life.
A Memorial Mass to celebrate Eleanore's life will be held at 11 a.m. On Thursday, Oct. 27, 2011 at St. Mary's Catholic Church (7400-39th Avenue). A visitation will be held on Thursday at the church from 10:15 a.m. until the time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. Mary's Catholic Church or St. James Catholic Church will be appreciated.
