Lena S. Ertner

1916 – 2011

Lena S. Ertner, 95, a resident of Kenosha, died Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011, at Brookdale-Clarebridge in Kenosha.

Born in Winnepeg Canada on March 25, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Rudolph and Elma (Splett) Schiller. She attended local schools.

On April 25, 1938 at St. Luke's Lutheran Church she was united in marriage to Edmond Ertner. He preceded her in death in October 1972.

She was employed at Coopers, then later as a seamstress making drapes for several shops in Kenosha. She was later self employed in her own home.

She was a member of the Senior Center, and sang with the Sweet Adeline's and the Senior Chorus. She enjoyed round dancing, line dancing and traveling with family and friends.

She is survived by several brothers and sisters including Elsie (Andy) Bakula, twins Evelyn Pabst (Schiller), Arnold (Gloria) Schiller, Edward (Marilyn) Schiller all of Kenosha, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister, Olga Tigge and a brother, Emil Schiller.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Friedens Lutheran Church in Kenosha. (5038-19th Avenue) Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to Alliance Hospice.
