Patricia L. Rossow, 78, formerly of Kenosha, Wis., passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Oct. 20, 2011.
Born Nov. 8, 1932 in Jackson, Mich, she was the daughter of the late Willard Osgood and Julia (Mashak) Twombly. She was also preceded in death by her first husband and the father of her children, Ray Stankey.
She is survived by her six children, Peggy, Karen, Ray, Sheila, Jerry, and Ted; eleven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Barb; loving niece, Dawn; and second husband, John Rossow.
Patricia spent most of her life in Chicago, Ill. She found her calling as a nurse (RN). She trained and worked at Northwestern Hospital (Passavant Memorial) where she developed lifelong nursing school friendships. She worked for 14 years at Shriners Hospital before getting her B.S. at age 40 and further certification as an Occupational Health Nurse, working as a Corporate Nurse in the business sector. She moved to Pleasant Prairie in 1995 and was active in her community and church, Saint Therese of Lisieux in Kenosha, Wis., the election board, and her local library. A voracious reader, she also enjoyed rummage sales, the arts, and loved her two cats. She will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held at Sanctuary of St. Paul's in South Bend, IN on Friday, Oct. 28, 2011 at noon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society.
