Rubena Booth

1932 – 2011

Rubena Booth (nee: Hives), 79, passed away quietly Oct. 28, 2011, with her children by her side at Mountain View Hospital in Las Vegas, NV after a short battle with lung cancer.

Rubena was the daughter of Isiah and Ether (Dubose) Hives. Ether passed away 6 months after giving birth to Rubena and her twin brother, Ruben. Isiah later married Henrietta Williams and eventually moved from Florida to Illinois to Kenosha, Wis.

Rubena was educated in Kenosha schools and obtained a manicurist license from Gateway Technical College. She was a member of Praise and Worship Deliverance Ministry, where she was the church mother.

Rubena leaves to cherish her memory, seven children, Theresa (George) Andrews of Kenosha, Mary Pearson and Ronnie Hives both of Las Vegas, NV, Robert (Erica) Gunnison of Phoenix, Ariz., Ruth Delace (Bobby) Dyson of Kenosha, Candace Booth of Atlanta, Ga., and Horace Lavell Booth of Milwaukee, Wis.; special sons, Frank (Delores) Morris, Glen (Melissa) Jones of Milwaukee, Wis.; 18 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren and a host of relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Isiah, Ether, Henrietta; husbands, Robert G., Sr., and Horace Booth, Jr.; brothers, Ervin, Ruben Hives; son, Harold Leon Gunnison.

Bruch Funeral Home will handle arrangements.
