Thomas A. Nevoso, 52, of Twin Lakes, Wis., passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011 due to natural causes at Columbus 151 Speedway, Columbus, WI. He was born Oct. 4, 1959, in Chicago, Ill., the son of Ben and Dolores (Gadomski) Nevoso. On June 20, 1992, he married Heidi Hanson in Belvidere, Ill. They had lived in Lake Villa, Ill., and Trevor (Cross Lake), Wis., before settling in Twin Lakes. Tommy was a business agent for the Pipefitter's Union Local #597 of Chicago. He enjoyed playing cards, music, fishing, and being outdoors; he especially enjoyed racing for Team Landshark. He raced at many tracks, competing in both demolition derbies and circle track racing.
Survivors include his wife of 19 years, Heidi; three children, Christopher (Jennifer) Turner of Lake Villa, IL, and Erik and Angela Nevoso, both at home; his mother Dolores Nevoso of Huntley, IL; his sister, Diane (Glen) Strum of Schaumburg, Ill.; his grandson, Chase Turner; and father-in-law, Don (Sonja) Hanson. Tommy was preceded in death by his father, Ben Nevoso and his mother-in-law, Ann Hanson.
Visitation will be held from 3-9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, 2011, at the Strang Funeral Home of Antioch, 1055 Main St. (Rte. 83) Antioch, IL. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2011; time and place to be determined. Interment will be private. INFO 847-395-4000.
