Erna N. Djurich

1927 – 2012

Erna N. Djurich, 84, of Kenosha, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012 at Kenosha Estates.

She was born on Feb. 11, 1927 to the late Otto and Berta Nicolaus in Germany. She was educated in Germany and came to Kenosha in 1952.

Erna married Kasijan Djurich on April 30, 1952. He preceded her in death on Jan. 2, 1987.

Erna worked at Jockey for 30 years, winning the Jockey Distinguished Award in 1985.

Erna was a member of St. George Serbian Orthodox Church in Racine and was a member of the Serbian Sisters.

Erna volunteered at St. Vincent De Paul for many years, she enjoyed crafting and flower arranging.

Erna is survived by her guardian and adoptive family Billie and Fr. Dragan Mitrovic, Petar Mitrovic, Jelena Mitrovic, Mimi Mitrovic and Katarina Mitrovic and one brother in Germany.

Visitation for Erna will be held on Sunday, Jan. 15 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Bruch Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Prayer Services will be held on Monday at 9 a.m. at the Bruch Funeral Home. Services will follow at the Most Holy Mother of God Monastery in Third Lake, IL. Interment will follow at Most Holy Mother of God Cemetery.
