James Benn, 75, of Kenosha passed away Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012 at UHS-Kenosha.
Born on Oct. 28, 1936, in Hannibal, Mo., he was the son of the late Harry and Alberta (Aldridge) Benn. He was educated in the schools of Hannibal. He married Santa Martinez on Aug. 15, 1964, in Waukegan, Ill. He was a member of the Army Reserves and the National Guard. He was employed at AMC/Chrysler for 35 years. He was a member of the UAW Local #72. He was a member of First Christian Church. His hobbies included a love for country music, gardening, tinkering with cars, and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include his daughter, Denise (Randy) Sams of Florida; an aunt, Eleanora (Larry) Steibel of Hannibal, Mo.; and a step-daughter, Debra (William) Staples of Waukegan, Ill. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandy Benn, a brother, Harold Benn, a sister, Velma Grycowski, a nephew, Marion Layton, and a sister-in-law, Angie Benn.
A visitation will be held on Friday, Feb. 17, 2012, at Kenosha Funeral Services from 9-11 a.m. with funeral services to follow at 11 a.m. Burial Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
