Frank V. Santapoalo, 85, of Kenosha, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012, at Brookside Care Center.
Born in Kenosha on Nov. 14, 1926, he was the son of the late Sam and Michelina (Lia) Santapoalo.
Frank honorably served our country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He served in the Pacific on Admiral Halsey's Flag Ship and was a paratrooper in the U.S. Army.
On May 22, 1954, at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, he was married to Joann Becker.
For many years, Frank was employed as a graphic artist with Milprint in Milwaukee, retiring in 1984.
He served on the Board of Trustees for Brookside Care Center. Frank will be remembered for being a very proud American, Wisconsinite and Kenoshan.
Frank is survived by his wife, Joann; his daughters, Julie Santapoalo and Dareene Roisler; and his sister, Rose Zappa.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Tony Santapoalo; and two sisters, Minnie Zizzo and Mary Combs.
In accordance with Frank's wishes, private funeral services will be held. Frank's final resting place will be in West Lawn Memorial Park.
