Visitation will be held at the Conway-Picha Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4 p.m. until the time of service at 6:30 p.m. A celebration of Life gathering will be held in the summer, yet to be announced.
Richard was born Jan. 17, 1941 in Chicago, Ill., the son of George and Estelle (Olen) Pahlke and graduated from Central High School in Paddock Lake, Wis. In April of 1961 he married Barbara Jean Larsen in Salem, Wis., and they celebrated their 50th anniversary. He was employed at Outboard Marine Corporation in Waukegan, Ill., as a diecaster and after 35 years retired and moved north to Lyndon Station. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and was an avid outdoorsman devoting countless hours over the last 50 years hunting, primarily ducks and fishing the Wisconsin river which he dearly loved.
Richard is survived by his devoted wife, Barbara; children, Richard (Terrie) Pahlke of Twin Lakes, Wis., Diane (Steven) Hertel of Champion, Mich., and Phillip Pahlke of Mauston, Wis.; grandchildren, Matthew (fiancé-Christa), Heather, Daniel and Sara; a soon to be born great grandson; a brother, George (Marge) Pahlke of Mauston and a sister, Susan (James) Hallwas of Antioch, Ill. He was preceded in death by his parents. Also special to Richard were his Labrador retrievers that he raised over the years that he took hunting and fishing.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Daniel L. Mulkerin of UW Carbone Cancer Center and to Home Health United Hospice for the compassionate care given to Richard.
In lieu of flowers memorials to Home Health United Hospice would be appreciated
