Harold T. “Ted”

Streblow1932 – 2012

Harold T. (Ted) Streblow, age 79 of Kenosha, died at his home on Sunday, March 11, 2012, surrounded by his loving family following an extended illness.

Born in Kenosha on Nov. 4, 1932, he was the son of the late Harold J. Streblow and Helen (Sucharda) McClusky. He attended local schools and was a graduate of Kenosha High School.

Ted honorably served our country in the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged in October of 1951.

On Nov. 7, 1953, Ted was married to Mary Ellen F. Harms. They met by accident, fell in love and married at a young age. They celebrated 58 years of marriage blessed with two wonderful children.

Employed with the U.S. Post Office, he was a Letter Carrier for 37 years and the treasurer and a board member of the Kenosha Postal Employees Credit Union for many years. Ted was a proud member of the National Association of Letter Carriers Branch 574. He also held many other part time jobs over the years to support his family.

Ted was a member of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church and enjoyed outside gardening. He was an avid Packer and NASCAR fan who also enjoyed attending his grandchildren's activities. He watched the stock market closely and had fun couponing to get a good deal. Mary Ellen and Ted enjoyed spending winters in Tucson, Ariz., but mostly he loved being with his children, grandchildren and great grandchild.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ellen; his son, Kenneth (Kriss) Streblow; his daughter, Robin (Bill) Bose; grandchildren, Brian (Erin Leigh) Bose, Kelly Streblow, Erin (Matt) Finnigan and Kurt Streblow; great granddaughter, Abby and step-greatgrandchildren, Katelyn, Trinity and Ella. Ted is further survived by his siblings, Joan (Dale) Ekkela, his brother, Robert (Brenda) Streblow, Michael and Gail Streblow; step brother, Gary (Linda) Young and many nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to his parents, Ted was preceded in death by his step father, Franklin McClusky; brother, Richard Pileski; sister, Beatrice (John) Rasch and two siblings in childbirth.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at 9:15 a.m. from the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, 7117-14th Ave. Interment will follow in St. George Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances to St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church or Hospice Alliance, 10220 Prairie Ridge Blvd., Pleasant Prairie, WI 53158, would be appreciated.

The family would like to thank Dr. Mariani, Drs. Sethi, Sobin and Garretto; Dr. Bandealy, Dr. Fullin and Hospice Alliance along with the nurses of United Hospital System-Kenosha Campus, 3 Palmer, for their special care of Ted during his illness.
