Ella I. Wennersten (nee Rodman), 90, of Antioch, Ill., formerly of Waukegan, passed away on Friday, Oct. 30, 2009, at Rolling Hills Manor in Zion.
She was born Aug. 10, 1919, in Neilsville, Wis., to the late William and Anna (Klawitter) Rodman and lived the majority of her life in Lake County.
For 50 years, she had been a CPA having worked for Paul Kamschulte & Assoc., and Gordon Furniture Store in North Chicago. Ella had also been a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Waukegan.
Survivors include two sons, James (Gail) Wennersten of Antioch and Gary Wennersten of Waukegan, two grandchildren, Dena Walker and Michael Wennersten and two great grandchildren, Jacob Walker and Baby Wennersten.
She was preceded in death by her husband Vernon in 1985.
The family would like to say “Thank You” to everyone at Rolling Hills and Start Hospice for their love and care.
Friends may visit at the Salata-Gurnee Funeral Home, 4190 Old Grand Ave., Gurnee, from 10 - 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Gehl Devore officiating. Interment will be in Warren Cemetery, Gurnee.
