Harry M. Christenson
1911-2009

Harry M. Christenson, 98, of Kenosha, formerly of Englewood, Fla., passed away on Monday Nov. 2, 2009, at Golden Living Center of Kenosha.

He was born in Albert Lea, Minn., on Feb. 21, 1911, the son of the late Lars and Dorthea (Jensen) Christenson. Harry was educated in Kenosha and began employment with Arvard Johnson Co. and later was employed for American Motors as a tool Grinder until his retirement in 1974. He married Eleanor A. Sovich McAllister in Kenosha in May of 1973.

Before and following retirement Harry worked with his son T.C. at Sunset Motorcycle Shop for 30 years. He and Eleanor moved to Venice, Fla., in 1984 and later moved to Englewood, Fla., where they lived for 25 years. They moved back to Kenosha in 2007 because of Harry's failing health.

Harry was a member of the ELK's Club in Florida the Eagles Club and the Eagles Poker and Golf Club in Kenosha.

Surviving are his wife Eleanor; one daughter, Jo Ann (Bill) Ranney of Tampa, Fla.; three sons, Ronald (Cathy) of Eagle River, Wis. , Thomas of Kenosha and David (Mickey) of Payson, Ariz.; one stepdaughter, Kathy (Anders) Axelsson of Los Altos, Calif.; and one stepson, Gary (Marta) Mc Allister of Kenosha. He is further survived by 25 grandchildren 30 great grandchildren and 2 step grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Esther Jensen and Alma Rasmussen; two brothers, Elmer and Albert Christenson and one grandson, David.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Advantage Hospice and the Golden Living Center of Kenosha for the wonderful care given to Harry.

A private funeral service was held in Harry's name per his wishes.
