Leonard A. Bruni, 83, of Kenosha, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009, at his residence, after a long battle with cancer.

Born April 17, 1926, the son of the late Luigi and Amedea (Quintarelli) Bruni, in Kenosha.
Leonard served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1946. On Oct. 1, 1949, in Kenosha, he married Elsie Roemer. She preceded him in death on Oct. 27, 1990.
He was a lifetime resident of Kenosha and was employed as a meat cutter until his retirement in 1988.
Leonard attended Lord of Life Church, was a member of the Italian American Society, the Care Group, He was a volunteer at Aurora Hospital and was an active blood donor for over 50 years.
He is survived by his daughter, Debra Bruni of Kenosha; one brother, Alex (Lois) Bruni of Menomonee Falls, Wis.; loving companion, Betty McCarthy of Pleasant Prairie; and further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie and his son, Randy.
Funeral services will be held at Lord of Life church on Monday, Nov. 9, at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park Chapel. Visitation will be held on Sunday, Nov. 8, from 2 until 5 p.m. at Proko Funeral Home and will continue at the church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his name.
