Florice Stone

Florice Rogers Stone, 83, formerly of Kenosha, Wis., late of Garden Grove, Calif., died Nov. 17, 2009, in Huntington Beach, Calif., following a prolonged illness. Born in Kenosha, she was the daughter of the late Harry S. and Florence (Rhodes) Rogers. She was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She taught in Neenah and Kenosha and later was a school librarian in the Irvine Unified School District, Irvine, Calif., and a public librarian for the Orange County Public Library. On Dec. 21, 1953, she married Kenneth Stone of Kenosha. He preceded her in death in October 1994. Florice was also preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy (Rogers) Noble.

Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth H. (Connie), East Aurora, N.Y., William R. (Trina), Alta Loma, Calif., Edward A. (Lisa), Westminster, Calif.; and nine grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Orange County Public Library, 1501 E. St. Andrew Place, Santa Ana, Calif., 92705 or Humane Society of your choice would be appreciated.

Memorial services to be held on Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009, at 10 a.m. at Hilgenfeld Mortuary Chapel.

Interment to immediately follow at Crystal Cathedral Memorial Gardens, Garden Grove, Calif.
