1925 -- 2009

Donald B. Streich, 84, of Kenosha, passed away Friday, Feb. 20, 2009, at Grande Prairie Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Center in Pleasant Prairie.

Born in Kenosha on Jan. 24, 1925, the son of the late Henry and Lillian (Meusling) Streich. He was a lifelong resident of Kenosha.

On Sept. 20, 1947, at Grace Lutheran Church in Kenosha, he married Muriel Wienke. She passed away Feb. 11, 2005.

He worked at Simmons Co., American Motors and the City of Kenosha Street Dept. for 42 years, retiring in January of 1990.

A Member of Grace Lutheran Church, AFL/CIO Local #71, AFSCME, he was on the Labor Paper Press Committee for 25 years. Don enjoyed fishing, hunting, reading, gardening, he was an avid fan of Auto Racine.

Surviving are his four children, Ronald (Kathy) Streich of Kenosha, Jerry (Carol) Streich of Trevor, Wis., Donald L. Streich of Kenosha, Pamela Streich of Waterford; one brother, Paul (Carol) Streich of Williston, S.C.; one sister, Helen (Milton) Merrick of Kenosha; four grandchildren, Kristina, Melanie, Erik and Amy.

He was preceded in death by a son, David, on Feb. 15, 2007; and two grandchildren, Michael and Karen.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 24, at11 a.m. Interment following at North Bristol Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, from 10 a.m. until the time of the services at Proko Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
