Jean E. Knutter

1925 - 2009

Jean E. Knutter, 83, of Pleasant Prairie, passed away Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009, at Clare Bridge.

She was born on April 8, 1925, to the late John and Elizabeth (Schmidt) Chart in Kenosha.She was educated in the schools of Kenosha and graduated from Kenosha High School.

On Jan. 18, 1947, she married Arthur Kohli in Kenosha.He preceded her in death on Aug. 19, 1960.On June 25, 1965, Jean married Alfred Knutter in Winona, Minn.He preceded her in death on Dec. 28, 1995.

Jean worked at Snap-On, AMC, Fort Sheridan and for the Town of Pleasant Prairie, then became a homemaker.

Jean was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, a member of the Pleasant Prairie Fire Department Women's Auxiliary, and a member of the St. Mary's Friendly Center for many years.

Jean was a poll worker for the Village of Pleasant Prairie for many years.She enjoyed reading, knitting, crocheting, bowling and traveling with her family.

Jean is survived by her daughter, Beth (Kent) Bahr of Kenosha; her daughter-in-law, Norma Knutter of Pleasant Prairie; her grandchildren, Robert (Cheryl) Knutter, Charles Knutter, Mark Knutter, Jeffrey (Donna) Knutter, Joseph Bahr and Kristen Bahr; her six great grandchildren; her five great-great grandchildren; her nieces, Pam (Larry) Fisher and Sandra Conway; and her nephews, John Sexton and George Chart.

She is preceded in death by a son, Robert Knutter; a great grandson, Alexander Knutter; a brother, George Chart; and a sister, Irene Sexton.

Funeral services for Jean will be held on Thursday, Feb. 26, at 11 a.m. at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church (6609 - 26th Ave.).Interment will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Bruch Funeral Home, and again on Thursday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of service at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church.In lieu of flowers memorials would be appreciated to St. Andrew's Episcopal Church.
