Joan M. Kunz

1937 - 2008

Joan M. Kunz, 71, of Kenosha, died on Christmas Day, Thursday, Dec. 25, 2008, at St. Luke's Medical Center, Milwaukee, supported by her loving family.

Born on May 11, 1937, in Kenosha, she was the daughter of the late John and Leona (Walters) Milkent.She was a 1955 graduate of St. Mary's High School.

On Oct. 3, 1959, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, she married Francis Kunz.

Joan was a very active, lifelong member of St. Mary's where she was a premarital counselor and a Eucharistic Minister.She was also a member of the Kenosha Rambler's Camping Club and "The Sweet Cheeks" Tandem Bicycle Club.She loved ballroom dancing, camping, and traveling.

She is survived by her husband, Francis; four daughters, Theresa (Scott) Waddell, Christine (Steven) Geilfuss, Susan Kunz and Cecelia (Richard) Valentine; nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren; a brother, John (Arlene) Milkent; and a sister,Juanita (Lawrence) Pflueger.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Dec. 29, 2008.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 7400 39th Ave.A visitation will be hosted at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass.The family requests that flowers be omitted.Memorial remembrances to the Shalom Center, 1713 62nd St., Kenosha, WI 53143 or Women and Children's Horizons, 1511 56th St., Kenosha, WI53140 would be appreciated.
