John “Jack” Bucko
1940 - 2009
John "Jack" Bucko, 68, a lifetime resident of Kenosha, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Feb. 20, 2009.
Jack was born on April 18, 1940, the son of Joe Bucko and Anise (Burns) Walters. He was educated in Kenosha at St. Casmir's School, Washington Junior High and Mary D. Bradford High School.
On Oct. 31, 1959, he married Louise Covelli at St. Mark's Catholic Church.
Jack took great pride in being a welder at AMC, Kelsey and International Harvester. His "two week" part time job at Town "n" Country Liquors lasted 23 years. His greatest "work" joy was working for his son, and with his sons, for Bucko Builders. The last eight years he and his wife proudly owned and operated Bucko's Ambulatory Transport."Bucko" will be missed by many.
The wonderful husband, father, grandfather, friend and the man he became was due to his membership at the Alano Club and involvement in AA...faithfully "working the 12-step program.”
His greatest enjoyment was the time he spent with his family, including camping, swimming, playing ball, bike riding, golfing, going up north, "running away" with his wife and also going with his wife to "their little corner of the world" in Jacksonville, Fla.His hobbies were playing harmonica with his father, sons and grandsons; learning and teaching the "magic of oil painting;” and attending baseball games with his family. He is an eternal Cubs and Packers Fan!
He is survived by his wife Louise, of 49-1/2 years; seven children, Dan (Sandy), Todd (JoAnn), Amy (Bucko) Dower, Patti (Rick) Worzalla, Heidi (Martha), Tim (Chris) and Scott (Jori); eleven grandchildren, Aaron (Amanda), Justin, Christine, Jessica, Stephanie, Joshua, Lauren, Alex, Bret, Jake, and Nicholas; and two great grandchildren, Anthony and Andrew. He is also survived by two sisters, Carol Jean (Arnie) Erickson of Palm Beach, Fla., and Joann Fanning of Tucson, Ariz.; a brother-in-law (and best friend), Augie Covelli; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his father, Joe Bucko; his mother, Anis, and step-father, Gaylord Walters; brother-in-law, Gene Fanning; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, August and Margaret Covelli.
