Mamie V. “Nana” Haber
1920 - 2008
Mamie V. "Nana" Haber, 88, of Kenosha, died on Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2008, at her residence.
A lifelong resident of Kenosha, she was born on May 1, 1920, the daughter of the late Pasquale and Angela (Tusco) Vaccaro.
She attended local schools and was a graduate of Mary D. Bradford High School.
On March 10, 1945, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, she was married to Paul Haber.They raised three children and were fortunate to have over 40 years together.
Her faith was a strong foundation in her life.She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and their Rosary Society.Mamie taught her family the importance of living a quality life filled with love and respect.Being a homemaker came easy for Mamie.She adored her husband and her family.She loved to spend time tending to their needs, listening to their dreams, cheering them on to success and comforting their challenges.Mamie was a great cook, enjoyed crocheting, and going out to eat with her friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Ed) Podbereski of Panama City Beach, Fla.; a brother, Santo Vaccaro of Kenosha; two sisters, Rose Reather of Oconomowoc, Wis., and Francis Vaccaro of Kenosha; a grandson, Kevin Rutkowski of Kenosha; a granddaughter, Robyn Rutkowski of Kenosha; a daughter-in-law, Gail Haber; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul, on May 22, 1989; a daughter, Dianna Lynn Rutkowski; a son, Thomas Haber; a sister, Mary Cambria; a brother, Frank Rotonda; and a son-in-law, Robert Rutkowski.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2008.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 2223 - 51st Street. Family and friends are asked to meet at the church for the Mass.Interment will follow in St. George Cemetery.A visitation will be hosted on Monday, Dec. 29, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances to the family would be appreciated.
