Mary E. Kluender

1913 - 2008

Mary E. Kluender, 95, of Kenosha, died on Friday, Dec. 26, 2008, at Hospitality Nursing & Rehab Center.

Born on June 18, 1913, in Beloit, Wis., she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Shauklis) Zemaitis.

As a young child Mary and her family moved to Kenosha.She attended St. Peter's School and was a graduate of Kenosha High School.

On Jan. 31, 1942, at St. Peter's Rectory, she was united in marriage to Herbert Kluender. Together they found a friendship and built a marriage that they shared for over 45 years.Herbert preceded her in death on June 12, 1987.

Mary's faith played an important role in her life.She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and the St. Peter's Women's League.She was also a member of A.A.R.P. and Allied Council of Senior Citizens.Mary absolutely adored and cherished the time she spent with her sister and friend, Nellie.

Mary leaves behind her sister, Nellie Anderson of Kenosha.She is further survived by her eight nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Zemaitis.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 2224 30th Avenue.Private interment will be held in St. George Cemetery.A visitation for Mary will be hosted at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
