Mary Elizabeth Nelson

1960 - 2008

Mary Elizabeth Nelson (nee Schultz), 48, of New Berlin, Wis., passed away Saturday, Dec. 20, 2008, after a brave struggle with pancreatic cancer.

Mary was born in Kenosha on Dec. 16, 1960, to William Richard and Marilyn Ruth (nee Lemanski) Schultz. She was educated in Kenosha schools, graduated from St. Mark Elementary School, St. Joseph High (1979) and Carthage College (1983).

Mary was employed in telecommunications and retired from AT & T after 24 years as an Associate Business Manager.

She loved shopping, traveling and animals, especially dogs and giraffes.

Surviving are her mother Marilyn Schultz, of Kenosha; sister, Carol (Leo P. ) Graf, of Kenosha; brother, James (Jean) Schultz, of Appleton, Wis.; nieces, Christina (Jason) Kowalski, of Milwaukee, Sarah (Brian) Van Cleve, ofPort Washington, Wis., Rebecca Schultz of Milwaukee, Kathryn Graf, of Kenosha, and Emily Schultz, of Appleton, Wis.; nephews,Leo R. (Amber) Graf, of Kenosha and Timothy Schultz of Appleton, Wis. Special friend of Kathleen (James) Rozanske, of Milwaukee.Also surviving Mary are her aunt, Kathleen Joiner, of Tennessee, uncle Richard (Barbara) Lemanski, of Hazelhurst, Wis. and great-nephew, George Van Cleve, of Port Washington, Wis.

Mary was preceded in death by her father, William R. Schultz, in 1991, and a brother, Robert William Schultz, in infancy.

Memorial Gathering at the Funeral Home, Sunday, Dec. 28, 2008, 4 - 7 p.m.Additonal Memorial Gathering, Monday, Dec. 29, 2008, at Forest Park United Presbyterian Church, 2300 S. Sunnyslope Rd., New Berlin, 10 - 10:30 a.m. Memorial Service at 10:30 a.m. Private burial at Highland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary’s memory may be made to a charity of the giver’s choice.

The family wish to extend special thanks to Pastor Roger Woehl, Dr. Sailaja Kamaraju and her staff at the Cancer Center of West Allis Memorial Hospital, the Aurora VNA Hospice, especially Lori, R.N. and Lisa, H.H.A. for their excellent care and concern shown to Mary during her illness.
