Rhonda Elaine Petty

1965 - 2009

Rhonda Elaine Petty, 43, of Kenosha, died unexpectedly and went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2009.

A lifelong resident of Kenosha, she was born on Sept. 14, 1965, the daughter of the late Robert Louis Marks and Barbara Boyd.

Rhonda's passion and devotion was education.She attended Mary D. Bradford High School, Gateway Technical College with an Associates Degree, Carthage College with a Bachelors of Art Degree, and Cardinal Stritch College with a Masters Degree.

On May 12, 1984, in Kenosha, she married James Marlon Petty.He preceded her in death on July 18, 1998.

For ten years she was employed with Eaton Dynamatic Corporation and then was later employed with Vista International Packaging LLC for seven years.

Rhonda was a hard worker and she loved to cook.Her specialty was making Italian dishes; especially lasagna.Rhonda will be remembered for her devotion to her son and the wonderful example she set for him.

She is survived by her mother, Barbara Boyd of Racine; her son, Marlon Louis Petty III of Kenosha; a brother, Roger Golden of Racine; a sister, Yvette (Roger) Simmons of Zion, Ill.; and her companion for many years, Walter Glass, Sr. of Kenosha.She is further survived by a host of many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.

Home Going Services will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2009, at 1 p.m. at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home.Interment will follow in Green Ridge Cemetery. A visitation for Rhonda will be hosted on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
