1919 - 2009

Rose M. Savaglio, 89, of Kenosha passed away on Sunday, Feb. 22, 2009, at Brookside Care Center.

Born in Racine, Wis., on March 8, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Nazarino and Carmella Arcadipane.

On Oct. 12, 1940, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Racine, Wis., she was married to Eugene Savaglio and they moved to Kenosha.Eugene preceded her in death on April 2, 1985.

Rose was employed with G. LeBlanc Corporation for 13 years and then was employed as a cook at Pennoyer Home for 12 years.

She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church and the Mt. Carmel Society.Rose's Italian heritage was very important to her.That definitely could be seen in her ability to cook and bake.Her many traditional Italian recipes were shared with her family and friends.Most of all, Rose was a devoted mother and grandmother who was delighted in spending as much time as she could with her family.

Left to remember Rose is her son, Joseph E. (Barbara) Savaglio of San Diego, Calif.; her daughter, Tomasina (David) Miller of Cordova, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Joseph (Staci), Gina Rose and Cristina Savaglio; her two great grandchildren, Anthony and Nina Rose; and her brother, John Arcadipane of South Milwaukee.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Arcadipane; and two sisters, Phyllis Dacquisto and Sarah Pasquali.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 1919 54th Street.Interment will follow in St. George Cemetery.A visitation for Rose will be hosted at the church on Tuesday, from 10 a.m. until the time of the mass at the church.Memorial remembrances to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church would be appreciated by the family.
