I would like to congratulate the Mahone Mustangs. They finished their season undefeated because of great players and a wonderful coaching staff. The coaches practiced with their players five nights a week and showed a great amount of determination to win. The players played their hearts out at every game including their last game which they had to play in a 40-degree downpour. I also think more attention should be given to middle school sports in the Kenosha area. Perhaps if the Kenosha News listed what sports are played on what field and at what time maybe more of the residents of the city could attend games. Games cost a dollar to attend and at Mahone the new field has plenty of seating and a great concession stand. It could be a nice afternoon for families looking for something to do after school.
Our son played for the Mustangs for two seasons and we were sad when this season came to an end. He learned a lot about the game and we got to watch some great games over the last two years. Thanks to the devoted group of parents who helped with the concession stand, chain gang and putting together the end of season banquet and keepsake DVD. Also a big thanks to the coaching staff, you helped the Mustangs go undefeated. You also showed the players how to play a good game of football and how to win with respect. Way to go Mustangs.
