Sippy takes News’ weekly NASCAR contest
Anthony Sippy posted his second win of the season in the Kenosha News’ NASCAR “U Pick ’Em Checkered Flag” online contest last week.
The Paddock Lake resident scored 903 points for his picks in the Chevy Rock & Roll 400 in Richmond, Va., Saturday night. Diane Derby won the national contest with 980 points.
Sippy will receive two tickets to the Brewers-Cubs game at Miller Park Sept. 22 for winning. He previously won for his picks in the July 11 LifeLock 400.
The contest is still open for weekly participation at kenoshanews.com. The overall national contest — which features a trip to the Richard Petty Driving Experience as the grand prize — and the overall local contest take into account a players’ top 15 races so that part of the contest is closed.
Dave Cigallio is the leader of the Kenosha News’ overall contest. He has 12,019 points while Bill Bryant is second with 12,008 points. The winning prize for the season-long Kenosha News contest will be announced at a later date.
According to the rules, the weekly contest can be entered up until 15 minutes before TV coverage begins.
To enter the season-long contest, visit kenoshanews. com and click on the “U Pick ’Em Checkered Flag” banner and start playing.
Weekly local prizes vary. The weekly national prize is a NASCAR MVP Series Watch and a NASCAR Fathead. For rules, click on the rules section of the contest on our Web site.

Recent weekly winners in the News “U Pick ‘Em” contest were William Rowlands for the Pennsylvania 500; Bryant for the Helluva Good! at the Glen; Lee Novak for the Carfax 400; Bill Helminger for the Sharpie 500 and Michael Francois of Marietta, Ga., for the Pep Boys Auto 500.
