Bethanne Duffy has found a home on the stage and a joy in the German language.

Duffy served as a board member of the German Club at Tremper High School and was a state qualifier for the Wisconsin German Speech competition. She has also participated in the German Day competition in Madison.

Duffy is also a member of the Drama Club and said her favorite senior memories include participating in Tremper’s haunted house and having a role in “The Emperor’s New Clothes.” During the summer, she works at the Bristol Renaissance Faire.

Not surprisingly, Duffy said drama and German classes were her favorites.

“They give me a chance to express myself through both language and acting,” Duffy said.

She also has been a member of the National Honor Society, the National Society of High School Scholars and the Renaissance program. She also placed on Tremper’s honor roll.

Duffy said she enjoys photography and reading, referring to herself as a “bookworm.” Her favorite book, and movie, is “Pride and Prejudice.” She also enjoys volunteering.

Duffy’s role models are her parents, Denise and Davis Duffy.

“They have and always will be there for me,” Duffy said.

She hopes to attend a local college major in elementary education with a minor in theater. Duffy plans on becoming an elementary school teacher, but also hopes to continue participating in drama programs. Duffy hopes to be able to teach those around her.

“I hope to help the community and to teach others what I know,” Duffy said. “I want to make others happy, which in turn makes me happy.”
