Not a Crime to be an "illegal"

Just a bit of information for those who don't understand the Immigration law very well... Immigration law, like tax code, is a body of code separate from criminal law and is CIVIL and not CRIMINAL in nature. Enforcement and adjudication of immigration law is handled through processes SEPERTATE from criminal law. Reflecting the civil nature of immigration law the presence of an illegal alien in the US is a "VIOLATION", not a "CRIME" such as a misdemeanor or felony in criminal law.

Coach, your explanation is 100% correct. The presence of an illegal immigrant is only a violation. However, the way that they entered the country is a crime and a Federal Offense. Just because an illegal immigrant wasn’t caught committing that crime, doesn’t lead me to believe they just materialized in Kenosha one day. Also, if a person is in violation, they should not be eligible to benefit from State of Federal run programs funded by the tax dollars of legal citizens or registered immigrants.
