“They have a good offense,” Tremper coach Frank Matrise said. “That DeBartolo kid is a heck of an athlete.”
DeBartolo finished with just 32 yards on seven carries and was 2-for-2 passing for 48 yards. The 6-foot-2, 190-pounder rushed for a touchdown and threw for another.
The Red Devils tallied a whopping 452 yards (404 rushing, 48 passing).
“We didn’t execute well at all,” Tremper lineman Najee Parker said. “We didn’t get low enough to tackle. We didn’t finish. That’s about it.”
Big finish
Andrew Gray capped his standout season with a 74-yard touchdown run on his final carry with 6:58 to play.
The Tremper senior tailback rushed for a game-high 174 yards on 20 attempts. That total tied for the sixth-highest mark in the history of the Bradford-Tremper rivalry.
On the season, Gray finished with 219 carries for 1,640 yards and 15 TDs (13 rushing).
Quick kicks

Bradford substituted freely in the second half. “We wanted everyone to get a chance to play in a second-round playoff game,” Kennedy said. ... A large sign on the Bradford side of the field proclaimed “Ameche Was A Red Devil.” ... Shortly after Bradford scored to take a 35-7 lead with 3:39 left in the first half, the sun poked out from behind the clouds, drawing a loud cheer. ... The last time that Bradford won two in a row over Tremper was in 1986 and 1987. ... Despite a stiff crosswind, Bradford kicker John Stevens was 8-of-8 on PATs. He has 65 PATs on the season.
