Bradford nabs a 10-point win over Indian Trail

KENOSHA — Yes, Khalia Anderson’s vision is unlikely for a team that has just four wins this season. But that’s just the kind of person he is.

After Anderson’s workmanlike performance — he had a team-high 16 points and grabbed five rebounds — led the Bradford boys basketball team to a 51-41 Southeast Conference win Friday at Indian Trail in a game the Red Devils led the entire way, Anderson had a confident proclamation of where his team could be headed.

“We can go (to) State,” he said. “With our potential and our team chemistry starting to build up, we can go to State. I have faith in my team.”

Chris Gates hit a pair of free throws to make it 64-60 with eight seconds remaining as the Hawks (6-13, 5-6) won back-to-back games for the first time in program history.

At halftime of their Southeast Conference home game against Indian Trail on Friday night, the players and coaches on the Tremper boys basketball team talked about being more aggressive and attacking the rim.

Donzel Riggins not only listened, he did exactly that.

KENOSHA — With his sheepish grin and easy disposition, Tony Thomas does not bring the image of a cocky, cold-blooded shooter to mind.

But that’s exactly what he’s been for the Indian Trail boys basketball team this season, and the junior guard threw his biggest dagger on Tuesday.
