An afternoon meeting
Kenosha Bowl II will be a Halloween matinee.
The Bradford and Tremper football teams will meet in the second round of the WIAA Division-1 playoffs 1 p.m. Saturday at Ameche Field.
It is the second playoff meeting in three years between the rivals. In 2007 — the first-ever playoff matchup between the schools on the gridiron — the Red Devils and Trojans also squared off in the second round at Ameche Field in an afternoon game.

Taking advantage
The opportunistic Bradford defense forced turnovers on four of Milwaukee Bay View’s first six possessions and capitalized with 31 unanswered points in Tuesday’s 58-0 first-round victory.
Bradford lineman Michael Mayfield recovered a pair of fumbles inside the Bay View 40-yard line and linebacker Brad Slomkowski returned an interception in the red zone for a touchdown.
“We were fortunate right off the bat,” Bradford coach Jed Kennedy said. “We got on them early.”
‘Unspecial’ teams
Tremper will be looking for vast improvement from its special teams units.
In Tuesday 14-6 victory over Milwaukee Riverside in the first round, the Trojans surrendered kickoff returns of 44 and 57 yards along with an 18-yard punt return. Nick Melito also had a punt blocked at the Tremper 38.
And, that was just the first half.
After returning the second-half kickoff 35 yards, Tyler Thompson lost a fumble at the Tremper 47.
“We had some miscues,” Tremper coach Frank Matrise Jr. said. “It wasn’t the best playing conditions, but we’re not going to make excuses.”
Quick kicks
Despite carrying the ball only twice Tuesday, Bradford quarterback Gino DeBartolo went over the 1,000-yard mark on the season (1,010). ... With starting center Andrew Korecz out because of injury, Anthony Celebre moved to center and Zachary Beckman played right guard for the Trojans. ... Tremper’s Cody Colbert returned an interception 55 yards on Riverside’s fifth offensive play. The Trojans were denied when Jake Snell was picked off by Bakari Triggs in the end zone. Clayton Boyer also picked off a fourth-down pass to help seal the victory with 1:12 to play. ... Bradford has had 16 different players score at least one touchdown this season.
