Bakkum uses a 300 to fire an 826 at Surf
Dean Bakkum capped his league-high 826 series with a perfect game in the Cuzzys Majors League Tuesday night at Surfside Bowl.
Bakkum opened with games of 279 and 247.
Bakkum followed that up with a league-high 805 series in the Heyden Classic League at the Guttormsen Recreation Center.
In the Cuzzys Majors League, Jerry Zigner (776), Mike Torosian (761) and Andrew Lovely (755) also topped the 750 mark. In the Heyden Classic League, Jim Capps (761) and Ed Seliga (750) both topped the 750 mark.
*Alter, Hedges, Zagar hit 800: Jerry Alter, A.J. Hedges and Matt Zagar made it a huge night in the Inner City League.
The trio each rolled an 800 series and seven other bowlers notched 700 series in the league at Surfside Bowl.
Alter topped the circuit with an 813. Hedges used a 299 for his 808 while Zagar rolled a perfect game en route to an 805.
Eclipsing 700 were Bruce Stebbins (762), Curt Logan (744), Doc Defurio (736), Jerry Schulz (730), Scott Thomas (722), Kyle Hansen (706) and Randy Prudhomme (704).
* Sternbach’s first: Carrie Sternbach rolled her first career 500 series in the Pins & Strikes League at Guttormsen Recreation Center. Averaging 135, Sternbach rolled games of 223, 170 and 138 for a 531 series.
* Cowfer, Ruffalo perfect: Tom Cowfer and Tom Ruffalo both rolled perfect games in the Pinbusters League at Sheridan Lanes.
Cowfer finished with a league-high 760 series, while Ruffalo had a 708 series.
* Safransky rolls 300: Scott Safransky bowled a perfect game en route to a 723 series in the Vardie’s Latestarters League at the Guttormsen Recreation Center.
Steve Griffiths led the league with a 765 series.
* Limbach rolls 300: Phil Limbach bowled the second perfect game of his career en route to a 664 series in the NBA Doubles League at Sheridan Lanes.
Jim Capps led the league with a 747 series.
Also, the Hawks won the league’s second third to capture a berth in the roll-off. Team members are Tom Kaddatz, Frankie DeBartolo and Brian Cooper.
* Big day for Marlin: Marlin Gascoigne utilized a 300 game in leading the Sportsman League at Surfside Bowl. He finished with a 761 series.
* Heckel close: Steve Heckel bowled a 299 game as part of his league-high 791 series in the Goodfellowship League at Surfside Bowl.
* Rettmueller reaches 700: Jenny Rettmueller put together her first 700 series — a 732 — in the Junior City Tournament at Surfside Bowl. She had games of 206, 247 and 279.
* A 700 for Tori: Tori Hedges, 15, recorded her first career 700 series in the Junior League at Surfside. She rolled games of 236, 235 and 268 for a league-leading 739..
