Ball, Caban lead local All-State honors
Tremper’s David Caban and Sarah Ball collected All-State honors from their sports’ respective coaches recently.
Here’s a look at the local honorees:
SoccerCaban, a junior, was one of six midfielders named first-team All-State by the Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association.
The Southeast Conference Player of the Year was one of 11 players to pick up first-team honors.
While no Kenosha County players were named to the 11-player second team, Tremper midfielder Henrik Egly and Shoreland Lutheran midfielder Erik White were both honorable mention selections.
Caban, who had 17 goals and seven assists during the regular season, was also a first-team selection on the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s All-Area squad.
Egly was selected to the second team, while White, Tremper senior forward Jesus Oseguera and Tremper senior defender Alex Ridolfi were all named honorable mention.
Muskego midfielder Riley Weiner was picked as the Player of the Year and Jeff Staus of Arrowhead was tabbed as the Coach of the Year.
Cross countryBall, a senior, was one of 16 runners named second-team All-State by the Wisconsin Cross Country Coaches Association.
Tremper senior Rebecca Stoebe and Wilmot senior Emily Hamilton both both named honorable mention.
On the boys team, Tremper sophomore Zach Hansen was also named honorable mention.
Ball was also named second-team All-Area by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, while Hamilton, Stoebe, Bradford junior Abigail Bullmore, Shoreland Lutheran junior Katie Dubiak and Tremper freshman Brittney Feivor were all honorable mention picks.
Hansen also received honorable mention All-Area honors.
Marcus Paulson of Sussex Hamilton was the Area Boys Runner of the Year and Molly Seidel of University Lake School was the Area Girls Runner of the Year.
