The Kenosha Rake baseball team took the lead with three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning and held on for a 6-5 victory over the Kenosha 17 Merchants in an American Legion Class A game at the Kenosha Sports Complex.
After the Merchants grabbed a 4-3 lead in the top of the fourth, the Rake quickly regained the lead in the bottom half. Kyle Koth led off with a double and scored the tying run on a wild pitch. Pete Del Fava later delivered a two-RBI single to scored Mike Istvanek and James Gonzalez, who both walked.
Koth and Myron Glass had two hits apiece for the Rake. Blake Primmer had an RBI single in the first inning and Istvanek had an RBI single in the second.
Primmer, Glass and Del Fava all pitched with Primmer picking up the win. Del Fava struck out the final two batters with the tying run on second base for the save.
The Rake next host East Troy 5:30 p.m. today at the Kenosha Sports Complex.
After three days off, the Kenosha Kings return to action with a Wisconsin State League game against the Sheboygan A’s 7:30 Thursday night at Wildwood Park.
The second-place Kings are 13-5 in the State League, while the A’s are 6-10.
