Boresch takes All-Events lead at USBC Open in Las Vegas
It has been an eventful trip to Las Vegas for Kenosha bowler Lennie Boresch.
After helping his Linds Limited team take the lead the Regular Team event on Sunday night, Boresch posted the highest all-events score of his 28-year tournament career and took the Regular All-Events lead with a 2,223 in the United State Bowling Congress Open Championships Monday night at the Cashman Center.
In the process, Boresch helped Milwaukee-based Linds Limited into the top spot in Team All-Events with a score of 10,372 — the third-highest score since the category was introduced in 1947.
Dale Traber, who returned to the USBC Open Championships after a three-year hiatus due to his exempt status on the PBA Tour, added 2,080 for Linds Limited and was joined by Gary Daroszewski (2,080), Ryan Lever (1,995) and Gus Yannaras (1,994).
Boresch is also in fourth place in Regular Doubles with partner Steve Brinkman at 1,446.
The 46-year-old Boresch had 752 in doubles, 728 in singles and 743 in team for his 2,223.
A total of 17,200 teams and nearly 90,000 bowlers will compete in the tourney, which began in February and runs for 154 consecutive days, concluding on July 24.
