CLS basketball player ranked 20th in class of 2010
In the latest high school basketball player state rankings released by Mark Miller of Wishoops.net on Thursday, Christian Life senior-to-be Josh Cameron was listed 20th in the class of 2010.
The Wishoops.net player rankings are based on a combination of performances during both the high school and spring/summer seasons.
In addition, player rankings are determined by personal observation as well as consultation with college coaches at the NCAA Division-1, 2 and 3 levels along with high school and grassroots coaches in Wisconsin.
The 6-foot Cameron, who ranked sixth in the state in scoring last season (24.1 ppg), was the only Kenosha County player listed in the top 50.
According to Wishoops.net, Cameron has a scholarship offer from the University of Mary (Division-2) and he is also receiving interest from Ball State, Columbia, Charleston, Illinois-Chicago and SIU-Edwardsville.
Vander Blue of Madison Memorial was ranked No. 1 and Evan Anderson of Eau Claire North and Josh Gasser of Port Washington rounded out the top three.
Tremper’s Sam Savaglio and Ruben Williams, St. Joseph’s Domenick Tirabassi and Shoreland’s Andy Thusius were listed among the 114 “other top seniors.”
n In the class of 2011, Tremper guard Darell Longstreet slipped to No. 11 after being ranked as high as fourth. He is the only Kenosha County player in the top 50.Darnell Harris of Milwaukee Hamilton, Quevyn Winters of Washington and Cinmeon Bowers of Nicolet make up the top three.
Bradford’s Quardell Young was listed among the 44 “other top juniors.”
n In the class of 2012, no Kenosha County players were ranked in the top 25, but Bradford’s Sheldon Cooks and Central’s Dalton Sjong were listed among the 36 “other top sophomores.”J.P. Tokoto of Menomonee Falls is No. 1. The 6-foot-5 forward already has scholarship offers from Marquette, Wisconsin, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota and Tennessee, while Duke and North Carolina are showing very strong interest.
