Easter lifts Thunder in OT
Kyle Easter scored on the power play just 16 seconds into overtime as the Kenosha Unified hockey team edged Brookfield, 5-4, in a Classic Eight Conference game at the Kenosha Ice Arena.
The Thunder (7-5) overcame a 4-2 deficit with two goals in the third period and quickly ended it in overtime on a blast just inside the blue line from Easter.
“He took a phenomenal shot and put it just under the crossbar,” Unified assistant coach Russell Thompson said.
“The goalie barely moved.”
Cole Thompson finished with a goal and three assists, while Devin Dorsey, Rob Thomas and Sam Spair also lit the lamp.
Goaltender Nick Wise recorded a number of saves from point-blank range, according to Thompson.
The Thunder, which was outshot 33-17, allowed all four goals in the second period.
