He’s back

UW-Parkside men’s basketball legend LaVontay Fenderson on break from playing professionally in the Czech Republic.

The Racine St. Catherine’s product was at the Rangers’ game Tuesday night and Kenosha News sports writer Jeffrey Zampanti caught up with Fenderson for a story for Thursday’s paper.

On a roll!

Kenosha’s Derek Hartnell recently beat top professional bowler Chris Barnes at his own game. After plopping down $1,600 to compete in the Chris Barnes Challenge, the Newman (Kansas) University student overcame a 77-pin deficit to defeat Barnes, who has amassed over $1 million in winnings on the Professional Bowlers Association tour.

The Kenosha Combined hockey team hosts Wauwatosa West at 7:15 tonight at the IcePlex. ... The St. Joseph wrestling team entertains Milwaukee Heritage Christian ... Due to final exams at both institutions, the UW-Parkside wrestling meet scheduled at UW-Whitewater tonight has been postponed. Both coaches agreed it was in the best interests of the student-athletes of each school to have the event at a later date, a Parkside official said Tuesday. Parkside was ranked eighth in the latest Division II ratings, which were released Wednesday,
